When does a 100W desktop unit make more sense than a 30W handheld?

Only if volume justifies it. 100W marks far faster and a bench frame repeats the same result across a run - the difference between engraving forty tags and four thousand. If your volumes are still occasional, the handheld does the same job for a fraction of the outlay. Tell us your monthly piece count and we will tell you honestly which side of that line you are on.

Does more power mean deeper marking?

Yes, and it also means faster marking at the same depth, which is usually what actually pays. At 100W you can also do genuine engraving on metal rather than surface marking alone.

Do I need a water chiller?

No. It is air cooled. That matters more than it sounds: a water-cooled machine brings a chiller to buy, a circuit to plumb, water to keep clean and one more thing to fail in the middle of a job.

What software does it use?

EZCAD-type marking software, supplied and set up before dispatch, and it takes AI, PLT, DXF, BMP and DWG - so artwork from CorelDRAW or AutoCAD goes straight on.
