A flyer gets a glance before it is kept or dropped. How to choose A6, A5 or A4, what to put on it, and how to work out how many to print.
A flyer is handed to someone walking past, glanced at, and then either kept or dropped. Everything about printing one well follows from that: the size has to suit where it is handed out, the message has to land at a glance, and the quantity has to match the number of real hands, not a round number that sounded right.
Choosing the size
| Size | Dimensions | Price each | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| A6 | 105 x 148 mm | 2/= | Counters, inserts in bags and parcels |
| A5 | 148 x 210 mm | 3/= | Street handouts, most promotions |
| A4 | 210 x 297 mm | 5/= | Notice boards, menus, detailed offers |
Flyers are priced up front: A6 at 2/=, A5 at 3/= and A4 at 5/= each, with a minimum of 4,000 per size, printed in full colour. That makes the smallest order KSh 8,000 at A6, KSh 12,000 at A5 or KSh 20,000 at A4.
A5 is the size most people should start with. It fits in a hand and a pocket, there is room for a picture and an offer, and it costs little more than A6. A6 is for places where a flyer sits in a pile: a reception counter, a delivery bag, a parcel. A4 belongs on walls and noticeboards, or wherever the reader needs detail, such as a price list or a menu.

What goes on it
In a glance a reader takes in two or three things. Make them count.
- One headline that says what is on offer, in the reader's words. "Shop opening Saturday, 20% off" beats a company name in large letters.
- One reason to act now: a date, an offer, a limited quantity.
- One way to reach you: a phone or WhatsApp number in large type, and a location if people should walk in.
Everything else, from your full list of services to the company history, belongs on the back or on your website. If you do not have a finished design, our design team can turn a rough idea into artwork before anything is printed, so you approve exactly what will circulate.
How many to print
Work forwards from the hands you will actually reach, not backwards from a budget. A rough method:
- Street handouts: estimate the people one person can hand to in an hour, times hours, times people handing out.
- Counter or bag inserts: your customers per week times the weeks the offer runs.
- Door-to-door: the number of doors in the area you will cover.
Then add a margin. Running out halfway through an event costs more than carrying a box home. Because the minimum is 4,000 per size, choose one size for the main run rather than splitting a small quantity across two.

When a poster does the job better
A flyer moves with the reader; a poster waits for them. For a message that should be seen in the same place for weeks, such as a shop window, an estate gate or a noticeboard, posters are A3 at 10/= and A2 at 20/= each with a minimum of 1,000. Campaign teams, landlords with units to let and event promoters often run posters and flyers together, with the same headline on both.
The rest of the marketing print
Flyers and business cards are usually among the first things a new business prints. Business cards follow the same logic of one clear message, and the guide to business cards that survive a wallet covers paper, finish and what to put on them. Common questions
What size flyer is best?
A5 suits most handouts: it fits a hand and a pocket, has room for a picture and an offer, and costs 3/= each. A6 (2/=) suits counters and bag inserts, and A4 (5/=) suits notice boards and detailed offers.
What is the minimum order for flyers?
The minimum is 4,000 per size. That is KSh 8,000 at A6, KSh 12,000 at A5 or KSh 20,000 at A4, printed in full colour.
What should a flyer say?
One headline saying what is on offer, one reason to act now such as a date or a discount, and one clear way to reach you, usually a phone or WhatsApp number in large type. Put the rest on the back or your website.
Can you design my flyer?
Yes. If you have a rough idea rather than finished artwork, our design team will lay it out and send a proof for you to approve before anything is printed.
